A one stop shop that caters to all of your desi cravings and a lot more.
We were invited by the restaurant for a lovely lunch to which we happily obliged.
Chandni Chowk is a multi-cuisine restaurant located in Cluster T, Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Dubai. Right of the bat, this is a spacious place. Great for large gatherings for family or friends. The environment is very lively and always buzzing.
The interiors are pretty artsy with a couple of walls covered with number plates and some depicted as a newspaper collage. The seating is of cushioned chairs and tables. They also have a chaat counter for yummy street food delicacies. It’s a great place to grab lunch/dinner with family or friends and also a perfect place to unwind with a cup of tea.

Banta Soda [AED 8]: Served in a unique bottle that goes POP when jabbed into from the top. Opening this was quite a theatrical show, I must say. It’s a lovely lemon and masala (spiced) soda that was really refreshing during a hot summer afternoon. We aren’t fan of masala based drinks but for those who are in to it, this one is quite a crowd pleaser.
Virgin Sangria [AED 18]: We were shocked by how good our drinks were here! This one is a grape juice based drink with sliced pieces of apples in it. It tasted amazing! Fresh and delicious this is one drink we recommend getting to accompany the rest of your meal.

Bora Bora [AED 18]: A nice radiant yellow color thanks to the combination of pineapple, lemon and passionfruit topped with apple slices and a piece of pineapple for garnish. We would suggest this drink for those who prefer a bit sour taste or are pineapple fans.
Gol Gappe [AED 12]: Our first stop before the heavy lunch that followed was the pani puri or gol gappe counter. I mean who can resist it when its right there calling out to you, right? The pani pani served here is perfect! Not too sweet and not too spicy, just the way we like it. Lovely fresh puris with that delicious filling and the oh so amazing tangy green water, with one puri we were sold.
Papdi Chaat [AED 17]: Served to us in a little plate was this colorful chaat item that was banging with all kinds of flavors. The papdi and toppings mix to yogurt ratio was perfect. The chutney was tangy and sweet and not too much. Overall a pretty good chaat!
Honey Chili Potato [AED 22]: Not the best that we’ve had. We wanted the potatoes to be crunchier and the sauce a little spicier. There were too many wrongs with this dish that we wouldn’t want to recommend it.
Non Veg Grill Platter: Now this one we liked! We had four different varieties of chicken ranging from chicken tikka to malai tikka. We liked them all. The chicken was marinated well and cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, juicy and full of flavors.
Mutton Seekh Kebab [AED 32]: Well marinated, and packed with flavors these kebabs would have been a good competitor for the chicken but we would have preferred is they were slightly firmer and the onions been sautéed.
Cheese Naan [AED 12] and Garlic Naan [AED 7]: Our choice of bread to go along with our gravy based main. The cheese naan was yummy! It was so good that we started eating it by itself rather than with the gravy. The garlic naan was soft and delicious as well.

Chicken Kasturi [AED 26]: A creamy gravy with a strong methi flavor. It went well with our naans ordered.
Boneless Chicken Tikka Biryani [AED 28]: The biryani was flavorful with the right amount of spices, and well cooked pieces of juicy chicken. It is served with a bowl of raita and the serving size is good enough for two.
Moong Dal Halwa [AED 14]: Something new for us! It’s a gram based dessert that is rich in flavor and wasn’t overpoweringly sweet. Have a go at it and try this out, it’s a dessert to be relished for sure.
Gulab Jamun [AED 12]: Great texture. Served warm to us and it was delicious!
The hospitality here is top notch! They put in so much effort in making their customers feel so comfortable. They made sure we had everything we needed, gave out great recommendations and overall just made sure that our experience was nothing less than perfect.
The prices are a good bargain for the quality and quantity of the food served here.
We shall be back to try out the various other options we missed out on the first time around.
