Don’t Miss out on this train to Sushi Haven!
We decided to try the restaurant as we were in the area.
Located inside Golden Mile Galleria in Palm Jumeirah, is this beautifully decorated Japanese place. There is a revolving sushi counter with bamboo sticks adorning the ceiling. You have comfy seating with the couches in both sides of the counter. It has dim lighting which makes for a great casual vibe to enjoy the meal.

Drinks: We tried the pomegranate soda and passion fruit mojito. Both were on two extreme ends of being sugary and sour for our tastes. The pomegranate soda was initially loaded with syrup but after some time it just tasted like soda. While the mojito would have been perfect, if the balance of sweetness and sour was done right. Presentation wise both were perfect.
Tebasaki [AED 24]: These are Japanese chicken wings with a lovely crisp exterior that is doused in a sweet and savory glaze. The wings were leaning towards the sweeter side. Apart from that they were delicious and a good option for a starter.
Dynamite Maki [AED 39]: A chicken based maki along with fresh pieces of avocado. One of our favorite maki options. It tasted amazing with the chicken being cooked and seasoned well. Along with the sauces, they have managed to maintain a good balance of flavors. Highly recommend trying this out!
Yakuza Maki [AED 48]: One of their best sellers. This one is an ultimate combination of crunchy prawn, crab stick and avocado. All the ingredients used are fresh and together it tasted delicious.
Chicken Teriyaki Bento [AED 74]: We have been waiting forever to try this out and Itsu has completely met our expectations and beyond. The bento comes with a portion of california maki which consists of crab sticks in its core wrapped with fresh nori which was too good. Next was chicken gyoza which was delicious. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Next was a portion of vegetable and prawn tempura. The prawn were extremely crisp and crunchy exactly how we like it. There was a portion of sticky rice with a side of chicken teriyaki which was sweet to taste and after all this you get your own happy ending with the cream caramel. The bento makes for a large sumptuous meal which is perfect when you want variety along with quantity.
Chicken Katsu Curry [AED 52]: One of our favorite Japanese dishes! Crispy fried chicken coated in crumbs along with a delicious thick gravy with veggies. This is served with a side of steamed rice. The flavors in this curry are beyond amazing ! You’ll have to try it to know how good it really is.
Dessert: We settled for a scoop of strawberry ice-cream as the other options were not available.
Mylene and Padma did a fabulous job of attending us. They suggested the best-sellers that should not be missed out and made sure we had a great evening.
For the location and the quality being offered, the pricing seems appropriate.
They also have an ongoing offer “ALL YOU CAN EAT” for AED 111 only. So you can eat to your hearts content. We think its a great deal.
We shall be back for more of the Katsu curry and to try other Maki options.
