Sort out your Asian food cravings with Nara Pan Asian!
We went to grab some dinner during the week.
The moment you set your foot in, you’re welcomed by a beautiful artwork from the conventional manga to the traditional cherry blossom tree which speaks fusion in caps lock. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or to just catch up with friends over drinks and some comforting food. You can be seated near the bar with high tables or you could chose to lounge yourselves on the sofa, all up to you my friend.
Rating: 8 Golden Nuggets
The night began with some complimentary prawn crackers and roasted nuts which was served with sweet chili, homemade chili, and chili flakes sauce. Both were great snacks while perusing the menu. Our friend really loved the wasabi peanuts.
Drinks: We tried two mocktails The Twilight Samurai [AED 36] and Mr. Coco Lopez [AED 36]. The twilight samurai is a blend of sweet and spicy so each sip, you get a different flavour. We felt the spicier side was a bit strong but then again we were warned by our server so no issues there. Mr. Coco Lopez is made with coconut water, strawberry and mint, but felt slightly bland in comparison to the twilight samurai.
Chicken Bao [AED 40]: The best we have had so far. The baos are so soft and the filling is very generous with the shredded slices of pulled chicken marinated with a special sauce. We totally loved it and highly recommend trying them and you’ll know what we are talking about.
Dynamite Prawns [AED 48]: Crispy and juicy prawns tossed in a spicy mayo made our tastebuds tingle. Another delicious starter to go with. The prawns were not overloaded with sauce so you actually get to enjoy the prawns which is rare to be found with this dish that is available all over Dubai.
Thai Green Curry Veg Dumplings [AED 36]: A steamed dumpling with the flavors of green thai curry and that too for vegetarians. We have never come across something like this so far. The menu is very vegetarian friendly as well which means you don’t need to leave out those few veggy buddies when hanging out at Nara Pan.
Chicken Sui Mai [AED 36]: The dumplings flavour was on point, just went a bit cold thanks to our photo session but when warm we would gobble them up without turning back!
Vegas Sushi [AED 42]: All the vegetarians in town have to give this sushi a chance because it will totally make you a sushi fan. It is made with avocado, asparagus, Rocca leaves and cream cheese which ups the ante with the flavour and you will not be able to resist yourself from keep on eating them until you know that you ate them all. We definitely recommend trying it, we don’t mind being vegetarian just to eat this all day long.
Kung Pao Chicken [AED 60]: The chicken was cooked well. It was a perfect combination with the house noodles.
House Noodles [AED 34]: A signature dish with spicy homemade sauce, real HOT you guys, only if you can handle the heat make a beeline for this dish otherwise it’s best to settle for something else. We being crazy spice lovers totally fell in love and had a gala time eating it.
Crème Brulee [AED 36]: It was served along with raspberries and strawberries which went well with the crème brulee otherwise just by itself we felt as if something was missing.
At the start of our night, the service was at its best but later towards the end it became a bit too slow for our liking.
We found the pricing to be a bit higher than the usual but then again for quality food you got to shell out those extra bucks. Some indulgence for the special days.
Otherwise, there is always happy hours or Zomato Gold that could be used so ease the pain on the wallet.
We will be coming back for round two of those heavenly baos!
