Moe’s on the 5th

Unwind with drinks and groovy ambiance

We were invited to come and try their new menu.

Rating: 8 Golden Nuggets

Ambiance:
The restaurant is located in the Sheraton Grand Hotel, and as the name suggests, it’s located on the 5th floor! As we walked in we noticed the dark swanky interiors, with a splash of graffiti at each corner. The vibe at Moe’s is all about the glitz & glam, or perfect for romantic date nights. There are live performances on selected days, usually with a fun blues/jazz jam.

Bite Board

We had a three course set menu along with two drinks per person.

We started off the night with Bitter Passion [AED 50] and Moe’s Mood [AED 70]. The bitter passion was a mocktail and had a citrus flavor from orange, grapefruit and passionfruit blend; a great combination that was refreshing. Moving to the cocktail, Moe’s Mood was a concoction of champagne, gin, a bit lemon juice topped with in-house elderflower foam.

MOT5_Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkin Soup: The season of pumpkin and the timing to try this soup seemed apt. We loved how the flavor of pumpkin and roasted tomatoes combined together came along really well. Something to look forward during the winters.

MOT5_Quinoa and Kale Salad

Quinoa and Kale Salad [AED 55]: The salad was fresh and had that crunch with each bite. The citrus dressing went together perfectly along with the avocado.

MOT5_Beetroot Carpaccio

Beetroot Carpaccio [AED 70] : You need to keep eating it for the dish to grow on you. A colorful plate is always considered healthy and this definitely passes the test. Slices of beetroot and strawberry topped with strawberry balsamic dressing, chunks of feta cheese, some rocket leaves and caramelized walnuts.

MOT5_Moes Mustard Chicken

Moe’s Mustard Chicken [AED 165]: This was a nice dish with a creamy base prepared with a corn-fed chicken and french mustard sauce. The chicken was cooked well but was on the saltier side that was balanced with the mustard sauce.

MOT5_Seared Tuna

Seared Tuna [AED 120]: Tuna slices with red bell pepper confit served along with lime sorbet. A very intriguing combination and worked well as a palate cleanser as well. This would be loved by all the seafood addicts.

MOT5_Creme Brulee

Creme Brulee with Mango Sorbet: We enjoyed this to the last bite, being chocoholics this was hands down our favorite part of the night. A creamy chocolate mousse masked with a layer of caramelized sugar with a side of mango sorbet. The flavors were to distinctive to be combined but for those who are fans of both would enjoy the combination while we enjoyed the creme brulee on its own.

MOT5_Passionfruit Cheesecake

Moe’s Passion Fruit Cheesecake [AED 48]: This would be enjoyed by the cheesecake fans, since it was not something we were fond of, it did not impress us.

Our server Lizzy did a great job of hosting us.

The prices are on the higher scale but worth a night out.
